Spay-Ghetti and No Balls lunch raises funds for Mondak Animal Rescue

In Williston, there is little to no prosecution of animal cruelty and neglect cases.  Because of this ongoing issue, Mondak Animal Rescue wants to make sure there are fewer animals around to be neglected and harmed by putting on a fundraiser event to cover costs of spaying and neutering.

The Spay-Ghetti and No Balls lunch at the Mondak Animal Rescue is Oct. 11 from 11-2 p.m. in hopes of raising money and awareness about the issue of animal overpopulation and the subsequent neglect and abuse it leads to.

Mondak Animal Rescue was started by the Scheele family and its staff works tirelessly to ensure that the pets of Williston find their forever homes. But taking care of an animal shelter isn’t all kittens and puppies and rainbows — it takes constant cleaning to keep the facilities fresh and ready for incoming animals. Mondak Animal Rescue has owner surrenders on a regular basis and space has to be carefully distributed. This is a no-kill shelter and has only been forced to euthanize a single dog in an emergency due to poor ownership.

The Spay-Ghetti and No Balls Lunch fundraiser will help keep the shelter from overcrowding when animals are ultimately surrendered by limiting how many are birthed in the area. Spaying and neutering are quick and simple procedures with a 99% success rate. Spaying and neutering can make some animals more docile but most pet owners see little to difference in the behavior in their pets.

Mondak Animal Rescue, along with 3 Amigos, will be offering spaghetti, caesar salad, garlic bread, dessert and water as a meal for this fundraiser. Tickets to this family friendly event are $20 and preordering is encouraged. Pre-orders can be delivered to a home or business address or guests can come to Mondak Animal Rescue to get a plate. The meal is donated, prepared and served by the people at 3 Amigos.

To help out the rescue in other ways, they ask for basic cleaning supplies, disinfectant, dog and cat food, litter and beds and blankets for our companions yet to find homes. They also take volunteers and good old American cash. All donations are tax deductible.
