Movie theatre popcorn has got to be one of the most amazing snacks, and The Grand Theatre in Williston makes the best!! When the folks at The Grand reached out to the Williston Community Builders inquiring about how they could help fundraise for their outdoor pool project, Williston Water World, the idea of Poppin for a Pool was born! They chose a Thursday in March, April, and May to play some of our favorite movies from years past for FREE, with all popcorn sales going toward the Williston Water World fundraising effort!!
The Grand Theater will host the second Poppin for a Pool event on Thursday, April 27th, 2023, at 5:15 pm. They are showing two blast from the past movies, Space Jam and Selena! All popcorn sales will go towards supporting the Williston Water World! Doors will open at 4:30 pm, and Showtime is 5:15 pm; with limited seating available, be sure to come early to secure your spot!
Movies are FREE to attend, with all other sales being cash only.
The Williston Community Builders will also offer drive-up options for those who can't make the movie but still want to support the cause and sneak some popcorn home. From 5-7 pm, your favorite Friendly Faces will offer curbside popcorn sales! Stop by for a pre-dinner snack or have an early afternoon movie before dinner and bedtime!
Williston Community Builder Vice President Amanda Colebank gave me this update:
"We are grateful to the 252 donors that have stepped forward thus far, bringing our total funds raised to date to $5,042,503.64. Also, we have many outstanding grants right now, and if awarded the grants from the state and county will be breaking ground in May, as planned. Our fundraising efforts will continue in the meantime with events like Poppin for a Pool and the 2nd Annual Williston Water World Golf Tournament."
