The Williston Community Library is continually gathering the community to expand imaginations through books and creativity.
On Sept. 10, the public is invited to come into the library to view creatively displayed table scapes decorated by community members at the Library Foundation’s 22nd annual Tables of Contents fundraiser.
Over 20 tables will be set up in the library for event goers to browse and enjoy. Each table host takes the liberty of
decorating their table in any fashion, from a themed setting to adornment of fine China and seat covers.
Half of this year’s hosts have decorated for the event in the past, with a few who have even taken part every year. The other half of the tables are being done by new participants.
Besides perusing the tables, there will be a silent auction and time to mix and mingle. Refreshments will be available and in the theme of a birthday party, kicking off the Williston Community Library’s 40th birthday that will be celebrated in October.
“The goal is to get people to come into the library and see all the new things we are doing,” said library director Andrea Platcher. “Sometimes this is the only time somebody will come into the library for the year, so it's a great way for people to see what we have been doing.”
Funds from this year’s Tables of Contents stay at the library, where they are currently working towards getting new tables for the community room. The event is Sept. 10 from 1-3 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door or can be purchased before at the library.
