Williston All City Orchestra Concert

Music runs deep in the heart of the Bakken. From the traditional drum circles of the Lakota Nations to the nightly fiddle of a circled wagon train bound west, music has lifted the spirits of humans in these lands for milenia. Though style changes through the centuries, beat, melody and ideas of love, loss and adventure still encapsulates the music we listen to today. Watching the learning process of music is always a wonderful sight to behold.

The citizens of Williston were treated Tuesday night to the All City Orchestra concert at Bakken Elementary. This presentation was organized by the Williston school district’s music department and featured musicians of all ages. The familiar faces of Eric Rooke and John Bisbee sat next to excited students, ready to perform and make their parents proud. The elementary school orchestra director was all smiles as the kids presented what they had learned from the year. We are truly blessed to have such an active music department here in Williston, stay tuned for more coming from this amazing group of young people.
