The State of the City address is an important part of informing the taxpayers of Williston about where their money goes. The 2023 State of the City got off to a successful start with thank you’s to Mitch Melberg for his visual display and Mayor Klug greeting attendees and citizens watching at home.
Shawn Wenko of Williston Economic Development described some of the projects the city of Williston is working on and discussed new contructions projects in Williston. He also introduced First District Senator Brad Bekkedahl who broke down some of the bigger numbers such as the city's overall debt.
The Vice President of Sanford Health, Matt Hocks, updated the citizens of the progress on the new Sanford Hospital coming to Williston. He also mentioned the new pairing of Williston State College and Mary University for the new nursing program. He additionally discussed supply chain issues significantly delaying the groundbreaking of the new hospital but assured citizens a groundbreaking will be announced soon.
