Williston Strong 5K Walk/Run Fundraiser
In 2023, April 3 was a day filled with tragedy for five different Williston families affected by two separate accidents.
The entire town and surrounding areas felt the pain endured by the surviving friends and families. Our hearts weighed heavy with empathetic grief and our minds desired a solution to help these families endure this unexpected turmoil.
In reflection of the recent events and inspired by other marathon fundraisers, Paula Lankford of the local Williston Run Club decided to rally the community together to raise as much money as possible in a short period of time in order to help the families forced to endure these times personally.
With the contribution of several local businesses and participation of the citizens of Williston & surrounding areas, this event managed to raise over $12,516.13 to be divided amongst the five affected families.
